4-Day Film Challenge

A high energy, full throttle, weird, wacky, and delirious film challenge! The most fun you’ll ever have making a movie.
Overview
Teams will have 4 DAYS to create a short film based on a secret prompt announced when the challenge begins. Films will be showcased at a live premiere party with prizes awarded to the top films!

WHO: Competition open to all HIGH SCHOOL, COLLEGE, and ADULT participants across Maui

Film Production
The official prompt will be released in a Kickoff Email at 11PM on Tues, March 24 (the night before competition begins). Teams will have until 2PM on Sun, March 29 to submit their completed films through our online portal. All films must feature the prompt and other required elements in order to be screened at the premiere.
FILM RUNTIME: Must be no longer than 4min, including credits
COMPLETED FILM DEADLINE & SUBMISSION: Films must be submitted by the deadline at 2PM on Sun, March 29 to qualify. The online submission portal will be shared in the Kickoff Email.

REGISTRATION DUE: Tues, March 24
TEAM SIZES: 1-5 People (not including actors)
RELEASE WAIVER: A release waiver for all team members must be submitted with registration (release waiver available to download on registration form)

General Rules
Do not publicly share your film in any way before the Premiere Party or your film may be disqualified.
Each entry must incorporate all the required prompt elements and rules as outlined in the Kickoff information shared when competition opens.
Entries containing explicit and/or offensive content are permitted within reason, subject to the following terms:
It is legal
All participating parties have provided written consent to the Entrant(s)
It exists in a way that adds to the narrative of the film, and not just for the sake of being explicit and/or offensive.
No nudity
There is a chance we may put a warning on any films with themes that might trigger someone in the audience, for example films that deal with mental illness, suicide, sexual assault, rape etc. We don't discourage exploring serious topics but please handle any sensitive themes with care.
FAST KINE reserves the right to make the final determination, in its absolute discretion, to disqualify any films that are deemed to be excessively explicit, or that contain offensive content directed at specific individuals or groups.
Do not use any copyrighted material in the film. This includes but is not limited to Music, Video, Logos, Pictures, Artwork, and Literature.
Release Waivers must be filled out by your production team at registration
Release Waivers must be filled out by any actors appearing in your film to be uploaded with completed film submission.
